Rare Identical Quadruplets Turn 1 Month Old and May Come Home Soon
The Short of It
The rare identical quadruplets, who were conceived by newlyweds Bethani and Tim Webb with no fertility treatments, are now 1 month old—and may be heading home soon!
The Lowdown
Bethani was just 33 weeks along when her identical quadruplet daughters Abigail, McKayla, Grace and Emily arrived via C-section. Now, just in time for their 1-month birthday, Bethani and her husband Tim are getting ready to bring the beautiful baby girls home from the hospital!
On May 28, a post on the Webb Quadruplets Updates Facebook pageannounced that the Webbs had received great news from the doctor: "In 1-2 weeks the babies could be released and home!" wrote family friend Charity Krahn.
So exciting!
In preparation, the family has received tons of donations from friends, including car seats, diapers, and clothes—not to mention acommunity fundraiser that helped them buy a minivan big enough for the whole family.
"Very very very thankful for all the people who volunteered and donated at our fundraiser," Tim wrote in a heartfelt post on Facebook. "We were able to purchase a very reliable used Van, free and clear of any leans or loans, huge help and blessings from everyone, won't ever forget this. [sic]"
By the next day, according to Krahn, all four girls were eating without feeding tubes. (Abigail, who is the oldest by a minute or two, was reportedly the first to see hers go.) And on May 31, the adorable foursome was finally moved out of the NICU.
"Last step before going home!" Krahn wrote in a Webb Quadruplets update.
And it's the first time the girls have all been together since they were inside their mama's womb.
"Right now, they're all in one crib, which is nice," Bethani told Today. "Before, they were in their incubators, they were all separate, and they definitely had some separation anxiety."
The Upshot
The Webbs have no history of multiples in their families, and according to Raising Multiples, the odds of having identical quadruplets are about one in 15 million.
While the news that their precious bundles are finally coming home is exciting, it's also seriously life-changing. Bethani said while the idea of taking care of four little babies is a little overwhelming, "Once they get home and I get into a routine, I'm sure it won't be too bad."

But can you even imagine what it would be like to try to tell four identical baby girls apart? Don't worry, Bethani said they've already got a plan for that: "We're going to paint their toenails and assign them each a color."
