Musicians Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale Welcome New Son
Celebrity mama and No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani gave birth to her third son, Apollo Bowie Flynn Rossdale, on Feb. 28, 2014. Apollo's daddy, rocker Gavin Rossdale, proudly announced his birth on Twitter. He explained that Bowie and Flynn are the maiden names of the new baby's grandmothers.
The couple, who have been married since 2002, are not strangers to interesting baby names. They're parents to Kingston James McGregor Rossdale, born May 26, 2006, and Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale, born Aug. 21, 2008.
Kingston shares the middle name McGregor with his daddy. Stefani explains his first name: "You know, we had that name … when No Doubt went to Jamaica to do the Rock Steady album. I said to Gavin, 'Wouldn't that be cool if we named our kid Kingston?' and he was all, 'Shh, don't tell anyone the name! It's our secret name!'"
Zuma, 5, was also named after a special place, Zuma Beach in Malibu, California. "Nesta" is thought to be another nod to Jamaica as it was Bob Marley's given name. "Rock" is anyone's guess, but since mom and dad are both rockers, it's probably as simple as that. Given the number of unique celebrity baby names such Bronx Mowgli, Kal-El, Reignbeau, Sparrow, Birdie, and Cricket, the Rossdale boys have pretty tame monikers.
