Is it possible to get pregnant a week before your expected period?

I’m not sure if what I have going on is inplantation bleeding or not but hopefully one of you out there can help or relate. My last period was on July 25, 2012 and I had sex on July 16th, a week before my expected period. I’m fairly regular (given 1 or 2 days off) and was due to start on July 22 and it never came. On the 25th I noticed a light pink spotting when I wiped, but not even enough to wear a panty linner. Also with light cramping but nothing like my usual. So I have a couple questions, is it possible to get pregant a week before your period and if I am pregnant, is it too early for a positive? I should add I have taken a test and it came up negative on the 28th.

Wait a week and take another test. That's the only way to know for sure. But, generally, if you ovulate within 10 days of the start of your period you won't be able to get pregnant because your hormones start changing to get ready for your period.
