Is it a bad thing to be pregnant by the age of 17?
No it is not i was 14 with my first and i can honestly say im so happy i hav my baby im 17 now with a beautiful baby girl whos2 her name is isabella nevaeh marie.....dont feel like less of a parent because honestly your probley more yes you are giving up your child hood but when people tell you your giving up all of your dreams dont listen im graduating early got accepted to harvard but i dont really want to go i changed what im going to do and dont let people get you down.but make sure to show everyone that youll be a great mom and show them teen moms are just as good at (old) moms....congradulations on your baby

Generally speaking, it's not a good thing to get pregnant when you're a teenager. Being a parent is extremely difficult. I was raised by a single mom who had me when she was 18. Our life was not usually very happy. We didn't have hardly any money when I was growing up and she was always at school or working. I basically raised myself because she was never around. We were on food stamps. Life was very hard for both of us.I had my first baby when I was 25. I'm now a mom of three and I'm going to school. Even though I have my husband who helps out a lot, getting my school work done is almost impossible. When I'm home I just have too many demands. I wouldn't trade anything, I love my kids and I love my life. But, I'm glad I waited until I was an adult before I even started having sex. Being a parent requires so much sacrifice.
I don't think you being 17 has a bit to do with you being a good mother. However, I think at 17 you may not be able to afford a baby. I don't know what situation your in but I know that babies cost alot,I spend 100 dollars a week on diapers.Also working and having a baby is impossible,I have a hard time cleaning or eating,You have no time to yourself.And being that young your husband/boyfriend might not be willing to stick around for all of the crying,diapers,feeding, I know that I have a hard time with all of it just untill my husband get's home from his job.
@Miamomma How do you spend $100 a week on diapers? Even with two kids, that's way too much. You should look into The Honest Company. They are a mail order company for baby products. They are organic and very affordable. An entire months' supply of diapers and wipes is $79.95. My baby only goes through 3-4 of their diapers a day, so a one month supply lasts at least two months.
